USPSTF Prevention TaskForce 4.11.1

The Prevention TaskForce (formerly ePSS) is an application developed by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). AHRQ is the leading Federal agency for research on health care quality, costs, outcomes, and patient safety. The application was specifically created to support the independent U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), which is a panel of national experts in prevention and evidence-based medicine.

The main purpose of the Prevention TaskForce application is to assist primary care clinicians in identifying appropriate screening, counseling, and preventive medication services for their patients. It provides information based on the current recommendations of the USPSTF and allows for searching based on specific patient characteristics such as age, sex/gender, and selected behavioral risk factors. However, it's important to note that while this tool can be a valuable resource, it should not replace clinical judgment and individualized patient care.
